ABOUT MADRE
MADRE is a brand inspired by the complexity and aesthetics of Mexican fabrics as well as the colours and the great sense of humour that characterises Mexican culture and people.
Established in Melbourne in 2019 by Lorena, a Mexican media communicator and fashion marketing grad, she moved to Australia in 2018 to inspire others with her Mexican background.

Currently, we collaborate with two workshops of Female Mexican Artisans from Mexico City, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Hidalgo and artisan-made brands like Fulana art, Isabel filigrana, Talam, Bucket hat Mx, En Cueros Oaxaca and more.

Our products are one-of-a-kind, co-created, fair trade and curated by Lorena and the artisans to bring authentic and iconic streetwear to your closet.​
Our mission as a committed Artisan-Made Online Store, we go above and beyond to create strong emotional ties with the woman we work with helping them reach economic independence through their craft.

How do we help the workshops and brands?
We curate the products from the brands we work with by doing this we make sure they are paid fairly to make sure they can continue to support their business and families.

By Co - collaborating we go from beginning to end of the process of each piece, this means we design together the pieces by respecting the artisan's techniques and process when it comes to a specific embroidery of their indigenous community to which the artisans we work belong to, it is very important for us not to take any appropriation of their embroidery but rather an appreciation and privilege of being able to work with them.

All our products are ethically sourced and handmade, we have a limited stock, which means we won't have the same item twice, we will only have similar designs.
